"Contaminated Landscapes (Bloodlands)" and Culture of Remembrance

Abstract

This article attempts to establish a dialogue between the term "contaminated landscapes" and the concept of the (Central) European Culture of Remebrance. That which is remembered, be it accurately or inaccurately, is put into relation with the forgotten and the repressed on the one hand, and the not-known on the other hand.
