Vibrations of lumped parameter models: Filippov approach

Abstract

The aim is to study vibrations of lumped parameter systems: the constitutive relations are defined implicitly. At first, we consider a dry friction model.

It can be interpreted as Mass-Spring-Dashpot lumped parameter system. Next, we consider the oscillator with a unilateral constraint.

Both models can be efficiently solved as a Filippov systems applying the event-driven algorithm.
