Abstract
This article deals with the teacher's role in the future professional life of his pupil. It acquaints the relationship of Antonín Dvořák (pupil) - Antonín Liehmann (teacher) and Josef Lev (pupil) - Josef Toman (teacher).
These examples illustrate the importance of the teacher in the life of the pupil, and certainly not only in the arts. Every teacher should develop the talents of his pupils.
On the examples of musical history, we can see that it was usual in the past. The article also reminds important regional and national musical personalities not to fall into oblivion.
