Abstract
The study deals with the relics of St. Vitus.
According to a 14th century chronicle, Wenceslaus I Duke of Bohemia obtained the relics of St. Vitus from "the emperor" (apparently from king Henry the Fowler - Heinrich der Vogler).
The remains most probably came from the Abbey of Corvey. Emperor Charles IV acquired the remaining relics in Pavia.
St. Vitus, to whom the church at Prague Castle is consecrated, had very early on become one of the patron saints of the Bohemian lands.
