Industrial research for universal seed and seedlings treatment that protects against fungal, bacterial and other pests

Publication

Abstract

In the second period of the project, testing of 11 different compositions of the seed coating powder based on Pythium oligandrum on model rapeseed and tomato plants was completed. Phytohormones and glucosinolates were analyzed in the plants.

Furthermore, the influence of Verticilium longisporum and Alternaria brassicicola pathogens on the plant metabolism after treatment with selected perspective isolates was analyzed. Also, a compatibility test of P. oligandrum isolate with different entomopathogenic microorganisms was performed to prepare a new seed coating powder with unique properties.

This project involved a number of students of the Faculty of Science of Charles University who were introduced to applied research. Here is represented only an abbreviated version of the final report, which contains all the results achieved in 2019 in the project "Industrial research for universal seed and seedlings treatment that protects against fungal, bacterial and other pests" (TJ01000451) of TAČR Zeta grant agency.
