Kierkegaard's (inter)subjectivity in the light of Levinas' criticism

Abstract

In my paper, I try to evaluate Levinas' critique of Kierkegaard's philosophy. As I try to illustrate, Levinas is at times excessively critical of Kierkegaard.

He concentrates primarily on Fear and Trembling - a text that Levinas considers to be at the core of Kierkegaard's philosophical project, while he ignores Kierkegaard's other texts - especially the religious ones.
