A New Book on Faust. Goethe's Hero as a Very Contemporary Symbol of Longing, Brokenness and Homelessness

Abstract

Review on a faustian monograph by a swiss Germanist and theoretician J. Anderegg, newly published in Czech.

We compare his interpretation focused mainly on the second part of Goethe's play with a former Czech publication Kniha o Faustovi (Praha: MF, 1982).
