Abstract

The case report describes a case of a 40-year-old man who suffered a cardiac arrest in the terrain and was rescued after almost an hour of resuscitation. After stabilization, he was transferred from a coronary unit to a psychiatric department with severe cognitive impairment.

Despite the gradual improvement in cognitive function, the patient's condition remains serious. Although the patient himself is happy and satisfied with his life, he is unaware of his cognitive impairment, and members of his family must cope with a variety of barriers within the health and social systems of the Czech Republic.
