Mortality fluctuations in the relation to heat waves in recent decades across Europe

Publication at Faculty of Science |

Abstract

Waves of temperature are one of the external factors of mortality development and intensity. The aim is to analyze the distribution of deaths during the year in selected European countries and to describe potential ties between mortality fluctuations and recorded heat waves (1993-2016).

It was shown that during some of the heat waves mortality increased, on average by 6-8%.
