Abstract
The contribution Remarks on semantics of an ancient loanword in Lithuanian demonstrates a part of the linguistic research presented in a doctoral thesis on early medieval contacts between Scandinavia and East Slavic areas and their reflection in the language of old Russian legal codes. The talk focuses particularly on historical reconstruction of the Lithuanian word gryčia, probably a secondary loanword from Old Norse.
