Abstract
Erlend Loe's book Stille dager i Mixing Part (2009, Quiet Days in Mixing Part) has the word "novel" as a subtitle, but it is a genre hybrid - part novel, part play. The article shows how genre hybridity, aided by intertextual allusions, contributes to representing the thematic aspects of the text.
