The research is focused on the analysis of range of productive vocabulary and quality of verbal expression in Czech monolingual children with Specific language impairment compared to their intact peers one year before starting elementary school. For research purposes the active vocabulary test was developed.
The test is focused on nouns verbs and adjectives. Our research data show that both of monitored aspects of verbal production have statistically significant difference between research groups.
There is very close correlation relationship between range of vocabulary and quality of verbal expression. A more detailed examination of the range of vocabulary in individual word types clarified that this range differs most among groups of participants in adjectives and least in substances.
