Abstract

The paper followed the opposition of traditionality a modernity in the literature of so called "Slovak Roma". The author followed the texts refering to the very past of Roma (mythis proses by Margita Reiznerová, some fairy tales by Elena Lacková) as modern individual text that construct Romani identity in a not-traditional mode.

Similarly, he regarded selected texts with motives from passed but relatively recent life in Romani settlemets (poetry by Vlado Oláh, proses by Erika Olahová) as author's literature almost without folklore influence. On other hand he stressed on fully folklore texts using very modern motives.

Based on this contrast he warned about dominance of motivical analysis in classification of Romani literature.
