Abstract

An important mechanism of social reproduction in societies without any form of writing is the construction of social memory. Regardless of the size and complexity of the social group, it needs to construct and maintain identities, which are the narratives that give its members a sense of community.

It is in this sense that we would like to use the term collective memory in this paper, which deals with various aspects of it, which can be observed at the site of Troy.
