Transgenerational transfer of poverty has emerged also in the Czech Republic. Our findings show a statistically significant correlation between the level of material resources and lower educational aspirations of teenagers.
The same correlation was also proven in children with excellent school grades. Lower material status was also significantly associated with weaker social integration and lower opportunities to develop own talents in after-school activities.
Our data let us assume that material status increasingly affects future life plans made in the critical period of teenage even in a society with a free school system.
