Abstract
The chapter is introduced by the main terms of the study in new religions. In seven subchapters, following issues are briefly discussed: the questions of conversion into a new religious movement, violence, millennialism and millennial disappointment, development of these movements, charisma of their founders and leaders and possibilities of professional help in cases of personal difficulties and social tension.
The last part deals with the possible future study of new religious movements.
