Abstract
The text deals with Jiří Kolář's long-standing relationship with the work of Charles Baudelaire, starting with the series of Lettrist Collages (1965), through the monumental cycle of Hommage a Baudelaire (1972-1973) to the cycle Triumph of Baudelaire (1985-1987). This latest cycle, which originated in the Kolář's Paris emigration, leads to questions about what Kolář saw as this "triumph," realized in the form of an insertion of iconic painting acts into the Victory Arc at the Place de l'Étoile.
