The concept of transitions between pre-primary and primary education has undergone significant changes in Europe in recent years. Many countries have introduced a compulsory year or even more years of compulsory pre-school education.
Some countries have even incorporated one or two years of pre-school education into primary education. The paper presents the results of an analysis of the concept of transitions between pre-primary and primary education in German-speaking countries in Europe.
It points out possible incentives for further development of education in this area in the Czech Republic.
