Populism in a democratic rule of law: a threat or a challenge?

Abstract

Populism is one of the most frequent words of recent years. But what can populism entail? Who are the populists, and why are they? Based on these fundamental questions, an interdisciplinary team, composed of both established and emerging authors, emphasizes the characteristics of populism as a political style, sometimes more as a peculiar doctrine, analyzing it as a dangerous alternative to liberal democracy, or "just" as an incentive for its revitalization.
