Pulmonary endarterectomy - a method of choice in the treatment of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension

Abstract

Pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA) is a method of choice in the treatment of patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). This procedure is associated with a very good long-term effect and tolerable risk among appropriately and punctually indicated patients.

In the following article, we present a case report of patient who underwent uncomplicated pulmonary endarterectomy in conformance with the standard of care used at the General University Hospital in Prague
