Abstract
Social work is associated with the welfare state ideas and modern state institutions that have established themselves during the 20th century. Although postmodernism strives to free itself from the alleged oppression of modern institutions, practice shows the indispensability of modern approaches and the ideology of solidarity and social cohesion.
