Abstract

The collective monograph is published to mark the 55th anniversary of the establishment of university translator and interpreter training in Prague (the academic year 1963/1964). It presents the recent research of four graduates of the Institute of Translation Studies, at the Faculty of Arts, of Charles University, Prague (Jiřina Holkupová, Libor Nenutil, Dita Štěpánková a Kateřina Vávrová),.

This research was the subject ot their theses and focuse on community interpreting (the role of the community interpreter; communication with the foreign pupils and their families in primary schools; multilingual communication in the healthcare in Prague; community interpreting in the employment agency).
