Abstract
The paper was prepared as a methodical material for mathematics teachers of the lower secondary schools. It is devoted to propaedeutics of analytical geometry, particularly to introduction of an orthogonal coordinate system, tasks focused on practicing point coordinates and propaedeutics of the concept of vector and its coordinates.
An emphasis is placed on interconnection of the new subject matter with the one taught before, visualization and practicing of plane geometry. The main aim is to introduce to pupils the new concepts graphically and to limit their formal understanding.
The material is completed with a set of worksheets.
