Delirium Tremens as a Complication in Alcohol Withdrawal Management

Abstract

From the beginning of 2018 to 30 June 2018, 93 patients diagnosed with alcohol dependence syndrome were hospitalised at the Detoxification Unit of the Department of Addictology. They displayed and received treatment for withdrawal symptoms of varied intensity and severity.

Despite proper care, the delirium tremens syndrome developed in one female patient. The case study follows.
