Abstract

Secondary myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) accounts about 10% of all MDS forms and represents a serious complication of the previous cytostatic treatment. In our article we present a case of patient previously treated for diffuse large cell lymphoma (DLBCL) who developed secondary MDS.

Our patient underwent the related hemtopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). However, a severe neurotoxic brain damage leading to coma occured as a complication following the HSCT.

Patient died from multiorgan failure 2,5 months after HSCT. in our case we want to draw attention to the less common compllications of the treatment of haematological disorders.
