Abstract
This article deals with a type of activity used in FLT called mediation, which is not widely used in the Czech educational environment and which is typical for such countries as Greece, Germany and Austria. The author presents how this activity supports current trends in FLT and also describes some types of mediation activities, designed and pilot-tested by an ex-student of the Department of English Language and Literature, Education Faculty, Charles University.
