Abstract

The publication focuses on the development of literacy skills of primary school students. First, it introduces the current state of knowledge of the issue with an emphasis on the key components of reading literacy development and their indicators.

Specifically, it focuses on decoding, listening comprehension, reading comprehension and picture reading. It presents tasks and activities that can be used in evidence-based teaching practice to map the level of these reading skills and to systematically develop them.

The materials are intended for pupils of the general population, but also for minority language pupils.
