The paper is concentrated on changes in management of schools - pre-primary, primary and secondary in management of these institution in the digital environment, i.e. in last twenty years in the Czech Republic. The aim of paper is to compare management competencies of headmasters before and in the digital environment.
The results are part of authors research in headmasters' competencies and show, that digital environment in headmasters' competencies increased the number of activities, especially the administrative nature, which the headmaster must perform. The study shows part of problematic in education in period Industry 4.0. in the era of digitalization.
