Abstract

The post-modern era also brought a discussion about the division of basic roles in society. Is the traditional division of labor between men and women based on universal sex categories, or is it a social construct - gender, a certain intermediate stage in the development of social relations? The very fact that some basic features of the structure of society, such as its "patriarchal" character, have a traceable beginning in archaeological sources (Neustupný 1967) may also mean that they are not natural in the true sense of the word and their validity in society may be limited in time.

It is undoubtedly giving archaeologists the arguments applicable in the whole society debate.
