Private interregional law: borders within the state on the example of interwar Czechoslovakia and Poland

Abstract

The idea of a state is usually closely connected to the idea of a uniform legal order. However, there are numerous states in which different regulations apply to different regions.

Such was also the case of interwar Czechoslovakia and Poland. The aim of this article is to give a short overview of the causes of the existence of the interregional private law in the above mentioned states, its further historical development and its eventual abolition.

Furthermore, some examples of the solutions adopted in the respective states and their comparison is given.
