Abstract

The article summarizes the results of a survey conducted among the Czech minority writers in Croatia in 2018 in order to contribute to the preservation of the Czech language in a minority environment. We are looking for answers to questions of who are expatriate writers, why and in what language they write, what literature and in which language they read.

Together with the writers, we try to discover the meaning of cultivation of expatriate culture, especially literature, and reflect on the perspectives of expatriate literature in the times of globalization. We are looking for ways in which minority literature could reach readers outside the minority environment and in the home country.
