The paper deals with the possibilities of researching antique furniture and other art-crafted objects made of wood. We can encounter furniture made of very different materials, which makes its research literally a multidisciplinary discipline.
Seeing furniture merely as "wooden products" would be very simplistic and could lead to downplaying the whole issue. The paper presents the possibilities of exploring its individual components - construction, decorative techniques and surface treatments, especially from the restorer's perspective.
