The Peace as a tabu topic? "Die gegenwärtige Konstitution von Zeit und Sachen" and the reputation problem of the Province of Holland

Abstrakt
The contribution evaluates the behaviour of the Province of Holland, the most prominent advocate of the Peace, on the platform of the Dutch political institutions. Holland desisted from advocating the Peace too loudly and promoted anti-Catholic, anti-diplomatic, and anti-corruption measures in order to persuade the partners of its determination to get rid of the "liberal" label abhorred by the broader political public.
