Abstract

The dissertation project aims to analyze the possibilities and limits of using expositions of science and technology museums in the teaching and learning processes of chemistry as a general subject. In the first phase of the research process obstacles preventing greater connection of museum exhibitions with the education process will be identified and investigated.

Special attention is paid to teaching and learning chemistry at lower and upper secondary schools. Exploratory methods will be used for this phase of the research process.

Exploratory methods include questionnaires and interviews with teachers, museum staff and other related institutions. Document analysis is included too.

Based on the results obtained from the first phase of the research, proposals for museum excursions with orientation to chemistry education will be created. Finally, the proposals will be evaluated in the pedagogical practice.
