Teaching of Chemistry as General Education Subject

Abstract

The chapter presents the content analysis of chemistry teaching as a university field of study, characterizes the profile of its graduate, and identifies the existing elements of environmental education, global development education and education for sustainable development using the example of chemistry teaching at the Faculty of Science, University of Hradec Králové. There are also proposals for changes leading to strengthening interdisciplinarity and the principle of learning for life.
