Abstract

The chapter summarizes the analyzes focusing on the formation of civic and social competences and especially on the competence of responsible behavior towards people and nature in the content of general education subjects. As is clear from the description of the curriculum of the different teaching specializations, it is still a strong focus on the disciplines.

Excessive prioritization of the content component in general education clearly results in suppressing the personal identity of the trainees, leads to excessive abuse of evaluation as a means of ensuring discipline, is the cause of formalism applied in the creation of knowledge structures, etc. The professional orientation of a field teacher as a general educational subject must be based on a balanced foundation of subject-didactic, pedagogical-psychological and certainly subject-oriented, but in other proportions than before.
