The influence of boron-doping level (B/C ratio in the gas phase (ppm): 500, 1000, 2000, 4000, and 8000) and surface termination (H- vs. O-) of conventional planar and porous boron-doped diamond (BDD) samples on their electrochemical properties and on the voltammetric behaviour of m-cresol, a toxic major water waste pollutant, was thoroughly investigated.
Within this study, it has been proved that both examined factors have a significant impact on m-cresol electrooxidation, thus have to be carefully considered when BDD is applied for electrochemical sensing of this environmental contaminant.
