Penconazole is a widely used fungicide. It belongs to a group of triazoles, which are known to block steroid biosynthesis.
On the other hand, its effect in the presence of potentially interfering compounds is not explored. We provide gas phase experiments of the reaction between penconazole and zinc using ESI-MS to give a particular approach to its probable behavior in a real environment.
The gas-phase experiments undergo the information about complexes formation including their stability and stoichiometry.
