Abstract
The chapter focuses on basic analytical procedures for categorical data (ordinal and nominal variables). Analysis of contingency table is the most commonly used procedure for these variablesThis procedure can be applied as descriptive tool as well as inferential tool via chi-square test (for generalizing the results).
As a complement, we will conclude with a correspondence analysis, ie a technique that allows to graphically display results for nominal variables.
