Publication at Faculty of Social Sciences |
2019

Abstract

Statistical literacy belongs to every self-confident citizen in today's world. Every day we encounter various figures, we are bombarded by the results of various research and statistics.

Statistical literacy is particularly important for social science students, as they will often in practice produce and process quantitative data based research. The authors of this textbook, knowledgeable researchers, made use of their long-term experience in conducting university courses in data analysis.

Therefore, they do not present an academic interpretation of statistics, but rather understandable instructions on how to statistically analyze data sets containing quantitative data. The text is adapted not only to the requirements and logic of statistics teaching in the bachelor program of sociology, but also to the logic of the popular IBM SPSS Statistics program, which is used in it.

The textbook is accompanied by all data files with which the text is operated and tools for practical data analysis, including SPSS scripts. The book is a follow-up to a previously published successful book by the same team of authors, new chapters were added to the text.
