Abstract

The book deals with the history of iron mining in prehistoric times, which predetermines the potential of the locality to establish ironworks in the 17th century. The main content consists of a treatise on the historical events of the Blansko Ironworks, the increase in production and production, and the influence of the famous personalities Hugo Franz Salm and Karl Reichenbach on their functioning, including the subsequent handover of property to companies.

Cast iron objects are presented in sets according to time and typological classification. The publication also deals with the characteristics of individual objects of the ironworks, considering both the local and European context.

The overall artistic and historical insight is rounded off by a pictorial supplement documenting the authentic form of cast iron products.
