Antonin Podlaha and Josef Pekař - "dissent" of Czechoslovakian Historiography in the First Republic?

Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2017

Abstract

Contribution focuses on the historiography of the First Republic and analyzes one of its paradoxes - its declared goal for objectivity and its real state-ideology-oriented praxis. Examples of "White Hill" debates and Jan Nepomucký controversy bring good materials to follow the goal of the study.

The struggle between Czech and German historians is shown as based on common ground.
