The study compares two texts of the Latin tract "Respublica Bojema" by Pavel Stránský from 1643, its German translation, and Ignaz Cornova s edition from the 18th century. It focuses on all aspects of edition work (introduction, footnotes, translation), whereas these aspects are considered a specific research source to study the period in which the edition originated.
The study aims to a broader topic, which are the matters of forming a modern nation at the break of 18th and 19th centuries. The study also contributes to the traditional research matter to what degree there is continuity or rather break between the older concepts of a nation (Middle Ages, Modern Ages) and more recent approaches of the topic.
