Abstract
In his lecture, Tomáš Petráň sought to approach the definition and definition of visual anthropology within social and cultural anthropology, focusing primarily on the context of film and audiovisual media with the scientific discipline. In addition to the history of ethnographic film and the description of the historical use of audiovisual means in anthropology, Tomáš Petráň tried to define the basic methodology of this anthropological specialization and to outline the possibilities of an interdisciplinary approach in interconnecting artistic ways of experiencing the world with scientific disposition.
The lecture gave a comprehensive overview of existing professional publications in the field of visual anthropology with a focus on film and audio-visual, and explained paradigmatic shifts in interdisciplinary overlaps.
