Abstract
The second petition of the Lord's Prayer is to be understood as a demand, primarily, for the finished kingdom of God and, secondarily, for a kingdom that is continually expanding and appearing at present. The Gospel and the entire New Testament underline a new moment: This kingdom consists in the Son Jesus Christ.
