Abstract

The habilitation thesis is structured into two parts. The first one presents a general discussion of the monitored issue, the second part contains a selection of published studies.

The first chapter of the general part summarizes the changes in the operational field of didactics of geography in the Czech Republic in a broader context. The second chapter presents the current concept of didactics of geography.

First, it brings a comprehensive view of the issue of geographical education through the discussion of the object and the subject of research in this field. It presents several theoretical approaches and models that structure the subject in different ways and thus prefer certain research questions.

The next chapter evaluates the state of research and development of geographic education in the Czech Republic on the basis of an analysis of published studies over the last twenty years and sets the key research topics in the Czech Republic and abroad. The fourth chapter describes the author's thematic focus of the research.

In a broader context, the studies presented in the second part of this habilitation thesis are presented. The aim is to document in detail the main topics the author deals with, the findings and impulses for further work, as well as the development and reflection of her thinking.

Therefore, studies published in 1999-2015 were selected. The final fifth chapter after a brief summary of the development of study and research in didactics of geography focuses on the perspectives of the field.

The general discussion of the issue is concluded by a list of used literature.
