Abstract
In his lecture Petr Hampl focused on the history of the Institute of Zoology at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the German University in Prague between the world wars. He mentioned the circumstances of the foundation (1855) and early years, described its staff, main research directions, and the most important scientific results achieved by its staff.
Lecturer also described the technical facilities and equipment both of this institute and affiliated research stations. Lecture was followed by the discussion.
