Abstract
The article is focused on the current legislation of corrective measures imposed to deal with illegal landfi lls contained in the Act no. 185/2001 Coll., Waste Act. After a general introduction in which the author mentions basic principles of environmental law refl ected in the legislation on corrective measures, explanation of the term illegal (black) landfill and introduction to the current legislation dealing with corrective measures regarding illegal landfills, the article focuses on selected problems of the current legislation chosen by the author, specifically on the preference of administrative punishment over the corrective measures, ambiguity of the legislation leading to inconsistent practice in dealing with illegal landfi lls and on the negative impact on the possibility of public participation in the relevant proceedings.
