Jiří Podolský: On General relativity in general: talking about its formal and "philosophical" nature
Abstract
In his lecture, Professor Jiří Podolský focused on the issues of Einstein's general theory of relativity in relation to philosophical bases. The general theory of relativity belongs - beside a quantum theory and statistical physics - to the three pillars of modern physics.
Since Einstein's general relativity explains the gravity of the distortions of space-time, it is crucial to understand what the quantum of space and time means. The lecture was followed by a discussion.
