Abstract

In association with the TALIS 2018 research survey conducted as a research tool aimed at monitoring the education policy of the participating countries. The article characterises the TALIS research survey and, through descriptive statistics, presents results a comparison of the Czech and Slovak Republics with a focus on the professional development of teachers.

Points out the benefits of a research survey to reflect the recognised situation of respondents and limits with country comparisons.
